Home improvements is a vast subject that can easily take up hundreds of articles on the many different aspects. Undaunted, I’ll continue to write this as an introduction to what I intend to be an on-going project of articles covering as many aspects of this subject as I can.

What qualifies me to write on this subject?

Well, I’ve worked as a builder for several years and in that time have encountered most forms of home refurbishment project and worked on everything from building brick walls, laying steel reinforced concrete foundations, fitting doors and windows, building extensions, garages, conservatories, swimming pools, patios, plastered interior walls, cement rendered exterior walls, fitted air conditioning, refurbished bathrooms, kitchens and every other room in a house. I’ve installed extensive plumbing projects from second bathrooms to central heating systems. I’ve installed regular (on-grid) electrical systems, solar powered (off-grid) electrical systems with photovoltaic panels, outdoor lighting systems, security systems including DDR surveillance and floodlighting systems for both indoor and outdoor security protection.. I’ve installed powered gates and garage doors, security shutters and grids, window blinds, patio blinds, satellite TV systems and multi-point computer networks.

To add to all that, I also worked as a landscape gardener so I can write on both inside and outside the home and garden.

So I guess I’m suitably qualified to write on these subjects with some authority from a hands on perspective rather than just regurgitating what I read in a book or on someone else’s website.

So once I get underway, I’ll be creating a series of original, informative and useful articles on all forms of home improvements and refurbishments. It has more in the way of articles and a larger knowledge base at the time being and I have no hesitation in recommending it. As for this site, the growing will happen as it happens.
